Amberina glass sqat vase made by Rainbow Glass Co.

Description

This squat vase was made by Rainbow Glass Co. in amberina. Rainbow Glass Co. was founded in 1940 and sold to Viking in 1973. In the company's early years they decorated blanks from other factories. Rainbow began producing their own glass in 1954. This vase dates to that post 1954 era. It has applied glass decorating the neck, a crimped edge and bulbous body. The color of this vase is striking. It starts as a dark red at the top and fades gradually into golden amber at the bottom. The pontil mark has been left rough. There are multiple inclusions in the glass making up the body of this vase. This piece has no chips or cracks but does have some residue/staining in the bottom. This is a beautiful vase.
