BF McDonald 1951 FORT RANDALL DAM Helmet Liner HeadGear & JOHNSON WINSTON Badge
Offered for your consideration is this Collectible 1951- 1952 FORT RANDALL DAM Helmet Cloth Liner Button-In Head Gear that was manufactured by the BF McDonald Co with an Original JOHNSON - WINSTON OLD ID Badge of the owner. If you are a collector of such vintage old items you probably know more about this thing than I do.
FYI: The Fort Randall Military Post was established in 1856 to help keep peace on the frontier. It was located on the south side of the Missouri River in South Dakota, just below the present site of the Fort Randall Dam.  In 1951 a joint venture of the AI Johnson Construction Company and the Winston Brothers Company, both of Minneapolis, built the intake structure under an .8 million contract. Its local batching plant mixed over 193,000 cubic yards of concrete-enough to lay 74 miles of two-lane highway. Amazingly, the intake structure was completed & ready to receive the Missouri River water in 1952!
