    Description

    I think this is an early 1950’s freeform Blenko wall basket style vase, minus the hanging holes. I found an online auction with what appeared to be an identical green vase by Winslow Anderson , also no hanging holes, along with a hanging glass basket # 5310. I looked at catalogs back to 1952 but according to the auction article, Winslow left Blenko Glass in 1952. I think this is one of his earlier vases. It measures 7 1/2 “ at the highest and 5 1/2” at the lowest point. It is approximately 6” wide. The glass is thick and heavy, the vase weighing 4 lbs .10 oz. The color is a deep, glossy cobalt blue with a wide, almost black rim. Other than a few internal bubbles this piece is in excellent, mint condition.
