Blenko Suncatcher- Turquoise Blue Mermaid Design

Here we have a nice handcrafted Blenko suncatcher, crafted in turquoise blue glass.   This features a mermaid design! These measure ap
proximately 4
inches in diameter.  Has a hole drilled for your hanger, not included. Stamped Blenko 2019 on the back.

Each of these pieces are completely handmade and thus will vary slightly.  The process is:
The gatherer bring a blob of hot glass to the craftsman, who shears off the desired amount.  He takes the carved metal mold/stamp and stamps it down on the ball of glass, flattening it and making the design.  The piece cools briefly, is slid over to a paddle and carried to the lehr where it cools slowly, which keeps the piece from cooling too quickly and helps harden the glass.  After several hours of cooling, the pieces are taken to the grinding department where they are drilled for hanging.   Each piece will vary slightly!
